This is the Sixth Form geography trip to Selkirk and Galashiels at the end of April 1970. We stayed for some days at the Scottish College of Textiles at Galashiels and we can date it accurately because that's where we watched the infamous Leeds vs Chelsea FA Cup Final replay on the telly.
There is some evidence to suggest that the real reason for the trip was for our rugby-mad teachers to visit the Melrose Sevens, taking place in the area at the same time, and that may go some way to explaining why we were there when our A-level exams were hardly a month away.
Dave Graham was a year ahead of the rest of us, but was resitting his geography A-level.
