Saltburn's Talk of the Town magazine has a new editor who has different plans for publishing the magazine online. Because of this we are no longer able to publish the current edition although we will continue to offer the past editions we have as we have always done. Many thanks to the previous editor, Ian, who was a great friend and supporter of our endeavour to make the magazine available to everyone. Wishing you a happy retirement Ian (although it is whispered you are still very busy).

Please be clear of the cliffs between Saltburn and Skinngrove 3 hours after LOW tide. The rocks at Redcar are dangerous just one hour after LOW tide. Please use the beach between the red and yellow flags when the lifeguards are on duty, and if someone is seen in difficulties then dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.

Saltburn by the Sea has maintained much of its original charm as a Victorian seaside resort including its pier, the colourful Italian Gardens and walks through Riftswood. Saltburn has the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain that is still in operation, linking the town with the pier 120 feet below. You can park at sea level where the old fishing village straddles Skelton Beck. The Ship Inn remains as a focal point, steeped in smuggling folklore. The Cleveland Way passes through along the coastline and follows a steep path up to Huntcliff, once the site of a Roman Signal Station.

Sea Breezes
Sweeping beaches, cliffs, big skies, surf, seabirds, Saltburn has them all and is our favourite place to be. At one time we created a monthly e-magazine to include some of Saltburn's past history and other interesting features. Sadly time and other commitments meant we had to put this venture on hold. But you never know....
