What's on at the library?
Hello from all the staff at the library. As most of you know we were closed for a few days recently while the library underwent a few changes. The refurbishment went well and we re-opened what appeared to be a much brighter and spacious library. The Tourist Information Centre is now settled and opened on 29th March.
The library is moving with the times in more ways than one. We are undergoing a change to the opening times, our doors will be open on a Tuesday until 4pm from 6th April and there are plans for Sunday opening also, so watch this space.
Can we remind everyone that the library operates a housebound service for elderly or less able bodied people who perhaps can't get to the library. Ring 01287 283584 for further details.

The Tourist Information Centre based in the library has now had it's own telephone installed and can be contacted on 01287 622422
Previous information
As most people are aware the library has gone through some changes over the last year.
A new librarian, Gill Stephenson, has been appointed to lead the team. Until recently she was the Book Bus librarian and before that she was the senior assistant at South Bank for many years.
The staff would like to wish Maggie Doyle, Saltburn's former librarian, good luck and a happy retirement.
Various community groups meet in the library on an evening, ring 01287 623584 for a chat if you are looking for new interests and we will tell you what's on at the library and when.
We are currently looking for any volunteers that may like to spend a bit of time tidying the Library garden up now that winter is almost over. The staff are happy to supply any willing volunteer with a lovely cup of tea.
Our reading group is led by Liz and meets on the first Tuesday morning of each month at 10.00am. We welcome new members, so if you have a love of reading and enjoy discussing varied and interesting books and would like the opportunity to discuss ideas please come along and meet our members.
